Before the development of the Laguiole in the early 19th century, French shepherds carried a knife called the "Capuchadou" (or "capujadou"). This knife was used for all daily tasks, from preparing lunch to care for their flocks of sheep. The Guilloché series features additional chiseling of the spring, liners (top & bottom. The "bee" and the spring (4 leaf clover) of this knife are forged from one piece of stainless steel. The shamrock also features a genuine Lapis lazuli gemstone in its center. Fontenille Pataud knives are considered by many to be some of the best French pocket knives money can buy and are 100% Hand Made in France.
Each knife in this collection features our "What You See Is What You Get" option. In other words, the knife on the photos is the one that will be shipped.
