While it's rare, any knife or corkscrew can break, regardless of its quality, design, or workmanship. Unfortunately, this mishap can lead to a costly and inconvenient situation. That's why we've developed a simple solution for our U.S. customers. If you ever need to make a warranty claim or request a repair for your French knife or corkscrew, just reach out to us. We'll take care of everything, as long as you purchased the item from us. At Laguiole Imports, we believe in standing behind our products and helping our customers in any way we can.

IF YOU MADE YOUR PURCHASE FROM US

If you are located in the United States we will handle the shipping fees to and from France for your repair or warranty service.In most cases, we will act on your behalf with the manufacturer and handle your claim quickly and efficiently (see details below).

IF YOU PURCHASED YOUR ITEM OVERSEA OR
FROM AN OTHER U.S. RETAILER

For all brands except Forge de Laguiole (see tab below) we will not be able to handle your claim. You will need to contact the original retailer and most likely asked to ship your knife or corkscrew to France at your cost. Moreover, the manufacturer will require you to pay for the cost of the return shipping.

If you are located in the United States we will handle the shipping to and from France for your repair or warranty service.In most cases, we will act on your behalf with the manufacturer and handle your claim quickly and efficiently (see details below).

If you purchased your item overseas or from another U.S. retailer

We will not be able to handle your claim. You will need to contact the original retailer and most likely asked to ship your knife or corkscrew to France at your cost. Moreover, the manufacturer will also require you to pay for the cost of the return shipping regardless if it was a product workmanship issue or not.

Chateau Laguiole: The manufacturer is back on track with 4 to 5 weeks turnaround for repairs and warranty services.
Important fact: Chateau Laguiole has literally millions of corkscrews in consumers hands. Being the most successful of all high-end wine openers since 1993 places a lot of pressure on the brand's repair and warranty services.

Forge de Laguiole Warranty

Forge de Laguiole offers a lifetime limited warranty against manufacturer defects.

Warranty and repair support are only available for Forge de Laguiole cutlery purchased from Laguiole Imports or any U.S based independent retailer (proof of purchase required). We do not offer warranty service for items purchased on 3rd party retail website such as Amazon, eBay, etc..

If the item failure is deemed to be a manufacturer's defect you will not be charged any repair fees. If it was not a manufacturer's defect (i.e. bent foil cutter blade, screw, etc...) you will be informed of the repair cost in advance. Chateau Laguiole offers a lifetime warranty against manufacturerdefect.

September 2020 update:The manufacturer as informed us that all warranty or repairs are back to ~30 to 40 days turnaround.

Important fact: Chateau Laguiole has literally millions of corkscrews in consumers hands throughout the world. Being the most successful of all high-end Laguiole wine openers since 1993 places a lot of pressure on the brand's repair and warranty services.

Direct U.S. warranty & repairs support are available for Chateau Laguiole purchased from Laguiole-Imports.com.
If your Chateau Laguiole was not purchased from Laguiole Imports please contact the original retailer, NO exceptions.

Max Capdebarthes Warranty

Max Capdebarthes offers a limited warranty against manufacturer defects. Leather sheaths will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of the manufacturer if the sheath is found to be defective.
What is covered: Any product failure due to manufacturer defect. Issues like cuts, punctured leather or obvious signs of negligence are not covered under the warranty. Please contact us with any warranty claims, do not send an item to France directly as it may not be handled correctly.

Code38 Warranty

Code38 professional wine knives carry a Manufacturer’s international warranty covering any defects in materials or workmanship for the lifetime of the product. This Warranty does not cover fair wear and tear, alteration or unreasonable use. Register your Code38 to be covered by the Lifetime Warranty.

Code38 takes extraordinary measures so your Code38 will give you many years of dependable service. If it doesn't, at our discretion the manufacturer will gladly repair or replace it with one of equal or greater value. This warranty does not cover abuse, alteration, theft, loss, or unauthorised and/or unreasonable use of your Code38 product. This warranty does not cover accessories, engraving, colour finishes, cleaning or sharpening. To obtain warranty service, it must be an approved return, please contact us
