The Forge de Laguiole Tradition 11 cm Pocket Knife Pistachio is a masterpiece of artisanal cutlery, meticulously handcrafted in the village of Laguiole, France. This versatile 11 cm model features a handle carved from Pistachio wood, a rare, highly ornamental material harvested in the Mediterranean region. Pistachio is celebrated for its stunning visual complexity, often displaying vibrant streaks of green, yellow, and deep brown grain that contrast beautifully against its pale background, ensuring that every handle is a one-of-a-kind natural sculpture.
Like all Forge de Laguiole instruments, it showcases a forged T12 steel blade and a one-piece forged bee seamlessly integrated with a hand-decorated spring. Each masterpiece is crafted entirely by a single master artisan, ensuring exceptional attention to detail and a deep sense of pride in the finished product.
A forged bee is a hallmark of superior craftsmanship. You can identify it by examining the transition where the bee meets the decorated spring; if there are no visible gaps, the bee and spring were forged from a single piece of metal. This traditional method preserves the structural integrity and historical authenticity of the 1800s originals.
In contrast, many budget-friendly options feature soldered bees, recognizable by a straight gap or ridge where the bee is attached. Soldering is a modern, cost-saving method that lacks the durability and artisanal value of a true Forge de Laguiole instrument.

Pocket Knife
Pocket Knives are designed for cutting only. Please do not use it as a screwdriver, crowbar, or wood chisel, as this can cause irreversible damage and void the warranty.
Corkscrews
Important Note on Use: Waiter-style corkscrews are designed for use with a secure grip on the bottle neck. Please do not use the tool by clamping the bottle between your knees and pulling the handle. This technique often applies excessive force, which is likely to bend the screw (worm) and will immediately void the product warranty.
To keep your pocket knife or corkscrew in top condition, follow these maintenance tips:
Important Note: Tuf Glide is not considered a "food-safe" product. Avoid using it on knives that come into contact with food.
By following these simple steps, you can ensure that your item remains reliable and ready for your next adventure.

Excellent steak knife. Used it on cheese already. I like the brass bolsters! I recommend you buy one or two.
I purchased the brushed stainless version of this knife, my third from LaGuiole Imports. The heft of the knife is slightly more than the shiny brass. The grain of the Pistachio is beautiful. This knife will be handed down for generations!
Old school beauty and quality.
A picnic or in your pocket, its rustic elegant.. timeless.
Everyone needs at least one pocket knife that doesn't say "I'll cut you èsé!" and for me this is that knife.
