The Pinot Noir series features additional carvings on the boot lever. This model represents a fusion of utility and art, featuring a boot lever with exceptional detailing inspired by the artistic creations of Stephane Rambaud, one of France's most celebrated master cutlers.
The handle is crafted from Juniper Wood (Genevrier), a favorite among Laguiole enthusiasts. Juniper is a wild, hardy wood known for its incredible pepper-like fragrance, which it retains for years. Aesthetically, it is highly sought after for its distinctive grain, characterized by swirling light ochre and warm tan tones, often punctuated by dark knots or "eyes." Because it is a natural organic material, each handle has a unique grain and depth of color, ensuring no two pieces are exactly alike.
Handmade in Laguiole, France, the Forge de Laguiole corkscrews, often called the "Sommeliers," are the only high-end waiter-style corkscrews to feature the traditional Shepherd's Cross on most models.
Forge de Laguiole created this wine opener in collaboration with professional sommeliers in France and around the world. Its ergonomics, elegance, and efficiency earned it the "Prix Design Plus" (the Design Plus award) in Frankfurt, Germany. Additionally, each of these incredibly efficient masterpieces is entirely hand-assembled by the same craftsman to ensure pride in the finished product.
The Forge de Laguiole workshop is located in the tiny village of Laguiole, France (Pop. 1,300), where the famous style of knife first appeared in the early 1800s.
Today, Forge de Laguiole represents the pinnacle of quality in the Laguiole cutlery business. Their reputation for integrity, ethics, and innovative designs has made this small 100-employee company the "Must Have" Laguiole luxury brand.
