This Chateau Laguiole was created in honor of Gerard Basset of the United Kingdom, winner of the 2010 world's best sommelier contest. Mr. Basset is the only person in the world to be Master Sommelier, Master of Wine, and Wine MBA.
The Best Sommeliers Series created by Master Sommeliers Guy Vialis to celebrates the world's best sommeliers. Each authorized piece was designed with the Sommelier's input and, as a result, reflects his preferences. Since debuting in 1993 Chateau Laguiole has been the favorite corkscrew of many of the world's best sommeliers. To this day it remains the most popular high-end waiter-style corkscrews in the business.
