Handle Character: This Grand Cru model features a handle crafted from genuine Ebony Wood (Ébène). Renowned for its extreme density and deep, midnight-black hue, Ebony is one of the most prestigious woods in French cutlery. The wood's fine texture and natural oils allow it to be polished to a subtle, silky luster that feels exceptionally smooth and substantial in the hand. Over time, the Ebony handle will retain its dark, uniform color, providing a timeless and sophisticated aesthetic that complements the most refined professional environments.

Included Black Sheath: The authentic Chateau Laguiole black belt sheath fits belts up to 2.5" wide. Each sheath is crafted from meticulously chosen genuine cowhide and is produced by Max Capdebarthes in France.
Ebony (Diospyros crassiflora) harvested in Gabon, Africa. Ebony is the darkest wood in the world and one of the few that does not float. Generally, Ebony trees are small and slow-growing. Worldwide demand for ebony wood is very high: it’s a high-quality hardwood that’s very hard, very strong, and most of all, very black. As a result, many species of Ebony have been banned from export.
Note that the international trade of Gabon Ebony (Diospyros crassiflora) used on this model is highly regulated.
Since 2020 all genuine Château Laguiole corkscrews come with a registration card to be validated online. This is the only assurance of their authenticity and warranty.

Pocket Knives are designed for cutting only. Please do not use it as a screwdriver, crowbar, or wood chisel, as this can cause irreversible damage and void the warranty.
Corkscrews
Important Note on Use: Waiter-style corkscrews are designed for use with a secure grip on the bottle neck. Please do not use the tool by clamping the bottle between your knees and pulling the handle. This technique often applies excessive force, which is likely to bend the screw (worm) and will immediately void the product warranty.
