A pruning knife is a versatile tool used for tasks such as trimming vines, cutting flowers, and slicing strings. It's also handy to have on hand when harvesting vegetables or grafting trees in your garden! The rounded handle butt rests against the palm and provides several grip options. How to use a pruning knife: First, grasp the knife with the blade parallel to the branch, then, in a quick swiping motion, make your cut. Note that it is best not to use slicing motions when cutting; the curvature of the blade already does it.
Technical aspects: All Old Bear® knives feature a locking mechanism that is consistently smooth and, most importantly, equally effective in locking the blade in both open and closed positions. Moreover, it is important to note that the blade can be locked or unlocked with a right-handed user's thumb finger. Contrary to one's first impression, the protuberant locking knob is not in the way and doesn't affect the usage of the highly ergonomic handle.
This knife features a hardened AISI 420 stainless steel blade. This metal's ease of sharpening, stain resistance, and corrosion resistance will make for a versatile everyday carry knife. 100% Made in Maniago - Italy.

Locking system: Fully hand-brushed brass safety ring - Locks blade closed & open (patent n.1187282). Brass must be periodically polished to retain its shine. If left untreated, it will return to its natural copper alloy dark finish.

The Old Bear® knife series was created in 2015 to celebrate Antonini's 90th anniversary. With more than 500 models and the production of over 300,000 knives per year, Antonini has mastered the art of knife making over the last 96 years.
Unlike other similar mass-produced knives, Old Bear knives are hand-assembled and carefully finished. Since the raw materials have been subjected to manual processes, every knife is unique and not standardized. Small surface irregularities can sometimes be found and are simply a testament to a manual process and do not affect the knife's functionality in any way.
