Break-In Period

Your new sheath may appear to be a little stiff at first; this is normal. As full-grain leather ages, it will adapt to the shape of your knife. Over time, the sheath will develop a much sought-after patina and a unique character that cannot be duplicated. The more you use it, the better it will look and feel.

Leather Care

The beauty of your leather sheath is only matched by its durability. To keep it looking like new, avoid exposure to sun and water for long periods as this can cause fading and cracks over time. Cleaning isn't enough—periodically apply a premium leather conditioner to maintain its suppleness.

Best Sheath Available for Laguiole en Aubrac Corkscrews

Laguiole's 12 cm leather sheath is by far the best-fitting, best-looking, and best functioning protective holster for the famous Laguiole en Aubrac corkscrews. The leather is thick and sturdy and the stitching is too, yet the sheaths are very attractive and not overly rustic. The 11 cm version is the right size for the folding knives with a small corkscrew snugged into the back of the knife. My first sheath is now nearly 25 years old, and shows that these only look better with age. They are nearly indestructible -- unless you leave one where a dog can turn one in to a chew toy!

Just received this sheath. Beautifully assembled. It came with the equivalent of a “shoe tree” to ensure a perfect fit for my 11Cm LaGuiole knife. Kudos to Max Decaparthes and crew. Perfect!
