Two Treasures, Old and New
My new knife, the Laguiole Nature Guilloche Desert Ironwood, is a gorgeous piece of work. Loving the lock-back feature which makes it very easy for me to open and stay in the locked position until I'm ready to close the blade. The other knife (which was my very first knife) with the rosewood handle was purchased after I viewed the great French film Jean de Florette, released in 1986. Because it wasn't a lock-back, and because of the addition of the corkscrew and awl, it was extremely difficult to open, though over the ensuing years it's become much less daunting. Interesting note- I just read that fashionistas are abandoning clothes and accessories for jewelry. Funny thing is I've always thought of your knives as practical jewelry, lovely to look at yet ready for the task at hand. Voila!
