This Chateau Laguiole was created in honor of Philippe Faure-Brac of France, winner of the 1992 world's best sommelier contest. Mr. Faure-Brac is also the current president of "l'Union de la sommellerie française".

The Best Sommeliers series, created by Master Sommeliers Guy Vialis, celebrates the world's best sommeliers with corkscrews designed with their input. With its debut in 1993, Chateau Laguiole quickly became the preferred brand of many top sommeliers. Today, Chateau Laguiole remains one of the most sought-after waiter-style corkscrews in the industry and is proudly Made in France. Shop for your genuine Chateau Laguiole corkscrew at Laguiole-Imports.

Shou Sugi Ban is an ancient Japanese technique that involves burning one side of a solid wood plank which will then be used as construction timber for houses. This technique allows the wood to withstand bad weather and has excellent resistance to time.

Blackwood Nakatado
The wood is burned by master burners and then brushed to reveal a lively ribbed structure. Nakatado is perfectly weather-resistant thanks to the thermal
modification of wood: a process that uses a temperature of 230° C without the use of chemicals. This type of wood, therefore, belongs to the durability class 1 (EN350). This wood has a lifespan of at least 30 years in outdoor use.

Metal construction: 12C27 Sandvik stainless steel and cold-forged solid brass.

Since 2020 all genuine Château Laguiole corkscrews come with a registration card to be validated online. This is the only assurance of their authenticity and warranty.

A Chateau Laguiole collector's display is availabe here (new window).

Chateau Laguiole are shipped same business day from Florida when ordered by 4 PM Eastern time. UPS delivery can be expected in 1 to 3 business days depending on destination. International shipping options are available at checkout.
