This knife was designed by famed French fashion Designer Sonia Rykiel. Sonia Rykiel was born in Paris in the 1930s. Thirty years later she opened up her first boutique on the rue de Grenelle in Paris. As a gifted seamstress, her designs supported womenés liberation, like the ultra-tight sweater that was applauded by the American magazine Womenés Wear Daily. They called her the queen of Knitsé. She also became renowned for the "pas dé ourlet" (no seam) and the "pas double" (inverted seam) as well as her famous stripes, rhinestones, mesh and printed words. Sonia Rykiel created fashion for herself, she called this unfashionable and recommended it to all feminine, sexy, elegant and independent ladies that she dressed. In the years that followed Sonia Rykiel included a childrenés collection, menswear, a ready-to-wear- line and accessories as well as her first perfume, 7e Sens, that was released in 1978, to her list of accomplishments. She opened stores in major cities around the world such as New York, London, Moscow and St.Petersburg. In 1995 she designed a red, black and gold knife for FORGE DE LAGUIOLE, a symbol of female emancipation.
