Because we know those questions will be asked!

Does the Lock-Top feel "in the way" when using the knife?
No, quite the contrary, here is why. The lock-top is slightly curved to feel secure when pressed by the thumb. Additionally, the filling decoration on each side provides additional grip.

What is the best technique you found to unlock the blade?
Although there are many ways to pull up the Lock-Top, we found that simply sliding the thumbnail under the gap is the most efficient and safe way to unlock the blade.
