1. How long will it take for my engraved Order to ship?

Most personalized orders leave same or next day depending on order time. However, please allow up to 2 business days during a couple of weeks preceding Christmas and Father's day. If you need reassurance, please call us at 860-245-2211 between 9 am & 5 pm EST Monday through Friday, and we will be able to provide you with a more accurate turnaround based on your particular needs. Please keep in mind that our engravers do not work Saturdays and Sundays EXCEPT during the two weeks preceding Christmas and Father's Day. Please visit our "Shipping Schedule" page if you are planning on using one of our EXPRESS shipping options.

2. Can I return my engraved knife or corkscrew?

Engraved items cannot be returned unless we made an obvious mistake such as location, font or spelling. Location areas are "approximate." Our engravers will place engravings in the most "tasteful & appropriate" way. Please let us know if you have special requests regarding the order of words, size, etc. by calling us at 1-860-245-2211. We cannot accept returns on items that were not engraved the way you "assumed" they would be unless you provided us with specific written instructions that we did not follow. You may contact us at sales@laguiole-imports.com at any time or simply call us at 860-245-2211 with questions.

Please review your engraving's spelling before checkout. Although we try to catch errors, we cannot be held responsible for spelling mistakes, typos and incorrect location provided by a customer. Also, we would love to give you a quick call if we have questions regarding your engraving. Please provide us with a direct phone number to reach out to you if needs are.  Thank you for your understanding.

3. How do I add an engraving to my Laguiole?  

Each qualified item includes a drop-down located just above the "add to cart" button. Make your selection from each dropdown, enter your engraving text and click add to cart.

4. Can I engrave my Laguiole with artwork or logo?

Yes, you can. Just select the logo/artwork option from the first drop-down menu. Upload your artwork from your machine to our system (see drawing below). Regarding your provided artwork: We do not engrave photos & hand drawn artworks. Additionally, you must be the copyright owner or have written permission from the copyright owner or business of any provided logo or artwork. Submitted artwork must be 600 dpi minima. Please note that we strictly prohibit the resale/retail of branded knife without prior written authorization.

5. Do you provide artwork?

6. You offer "Laser" and "Diamond" engraving, what's the difference?
A laser can be select to engrave the handle or mark the blade. Laser burns the wood handle and leaves a dark mark that is very noticeable. This solution is by far the most popular. Laser marking can also be achieved on the blade. This solution will leave a black mark on the blade, and no metal is removed from the blade. The result is the same as the marking found on most large kitchen knives. (see our portfolio for examples)

Diamond engraving can only be performed on the blade. This engraving solution will be your best choice if you want to have a more classic and "discreet" engraving.

7. I need a large amount of personalized items for my employees, can I get a discount?  

Yes, If you need more the eight knives or corkscrews we can help! Just complete our corporate application here, and we will reach out to you.

8. What are the difference between "Initials" and Monograms"? 

A traditional 3-letter monogram has the initial of the individual's last name (surname) set larger and centered while the first name initial appears to the left of it and the middle name initial appears to the right of it. For example, if the individual's name is Mary Ann Jones, and Jones is the surname/last name, then the arrangement of letters would be "MJA" with the last name/surname initial set larger in the center. The M for Mary to the left and the A for Ann to the right.



Initial are simply three letters of the same size place in this order: First name, middle name, last name.

Laguiole "Lifetime Warranties" have been abused by many manufacturers for decades. Some of them will honor it but most of them will not unless you are able to contact them in France and show a lot of patience and determination. Laguiole Imports strictly enforces all manufacturer warranties.

IF YOU PURCHASED YOUR ITEM FROM LAGUIOLE IMPORTS

If you are located in the United States we will handle the shipping fees to and from France for your repair or warranty service.In most cases, we will act on your behalf with the manufacturer and handle your claim quickly and efficiently (see details below).

IF YOU PURCHASED YOUR ITEM OVERSEA OR FROM AN OTHER U.S. RETAILER

For all brands except Forge de Laguiole (see tab below) we will not be able to handle your claim. You will need to contact the original retailer and most likely asked to ship your knife or corkscrew to France at your cost. Moreover, the manufacturer will require you to pay for the cost of the return shipping.

Forge de Laguiole offers a lifetime limited warranty against manufacturer defects.

Warranty and repair support are only available for Forge de Laguiole cutlery purchased from a U.S. retailer located within the United States (proof of purchase required).

If the item failure is deemed to be a manufacturer's defect you will not be charged any repair fees. If it was not a manufacturer's defect (i.e. bent foil cutter blade, screw, etc...) you will be informed of the repair cost in advance. Expected turnaround is up to 2 months Please complete the form below to start the process.

Chateau Laguiole Warranty

 Chateau Laguiole offers a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects.

If the item failure is deemed to be a manufacturer's defect you will not be charged any repair fees. If it was not a manufacturer's defect (i.e. bent foil cutter blade, screw, etc...) you will be informed of the repair cost in advance. Expected turnaround is up to 8 weeks at this time.  

Warranty and repairs support are only available for Chateau Laguiole purchased from Laguiole-Imports.com.
If your Chateau Laguiole was not purchased from us please contact the original retailer for warranty support.

Fontenille Pataud Warranty

Fontenille Pataud offers a lifetime limited warrantyagainst manufacturing defects.

Max Capdebarthes Warranty

Max Capdebarthes offers a limited warranty against manufacturer defects. Leather sheaths will be repaired or replaced at the discretion of the manufacturer if the sheath is found to be defective.
What is covered: Any product failure due to manufacturer defect. Issues like cuts, punctured leather or obvious signs of negligence are not covered under the warranty. Please contact us with any warranty claims, do not send an item to France directly as it may not be handled correctly.

Code38 Warranty

Code38 professional wine knives carry a Manufacturer’s international warranty covering any defects in materials or workmanship for the lifetime of the product. This Warranty does not cover fair wear and tear, alteration or unreasonable use. Register your Code38 to be covered by the Lifetime Warranty.

Code38 takes extraordinary measures so your Code38 will give you many years of dependable service. If it doesn't, at our discretion the manufacturer will gladly repair or replace it with one of equal or greater value. This warranty does not cover abuse, alteration, theft, loss, or unauthorised and/or unreasonable use of your Code38 product. This warranty does not cover accessories, engraving, colour finishes, cleaning or sharpening. To obtain warranty service, it must be an approved return, please contact us
