Classic Laguiole Knife 11cm Warthog Handle

  • Traditional Laguiole knife 11 cm: A solid blade stop is provided on all classic Laguiole knives from Fontenille Pataud. The classic also features a one piece forged spring and "Bee" only found on high-end knives. These details create a unique Laguiole knife, making each knife one of a kind.
    Entirely hand made in Europe's capital of cutlery "Thiers." The “Gilles®” Fontenille Pataud collection of knives are considered by many experts to be some of the best Laguiole knives money can buy. All Knives offered by Gilles are entirely made by a single craftsman from start to finish ensuring pride of ownership of the final piece.
    Construction: 1 piece forged bee with hand chiseled spring. Note: The bee and the spring of this knife are forged from one piece of stainless steel.
    Handle Material: Genuine warthog tooth (Africa). Each knife requires one whole tooth which makes it unique
    Blade: Swedish Stainless 12c27 Sandvik steel, 3 mm thick. Hardness: 56-57 HRC.
    Features: One Piece forged spring and Bee - Hand chiseled spring top - Lock Back Design - Around 1:30 hrs of labour by one craftsman to create this knife.
    Technical Tips: Smooth and easy opening system. The spring with its lock-back secure system a couple of 2.50 mm thick stainless steel Z20c13. A solid hardened blade stop is included to prevent the edge of the blade from making contact with the spring's back. The traditional bee is solid and forged into the spring. The spring and bee are then hand-chased with a file, unlike cheap mass market products that have welded bee and springs that are machine decorated. These details create a unique Laguiole knife, making each knife one of a kind. Included with your purchase are a numbered warranty certificate and a soft leather sheath.

  • Fontenille Pataud offers a lifetime warranty against manufacturer defects. The knife will be replaced or repaired at the discretion of the *manufacturer. What is cover: Any product failure due to manufacturer defect. Issues like curved blade will be repaired but are not covered by the manufacturer warranty. We offer free warranty support (click here for details). Please contact us with any warranty claims, do not send an item to France directly as it may not be handled correctly. *Disclaimer: The above warranty is offered by the manufacturer, not Laguiole Imports. Laguiole Imports cannot be held responsible for any issues arising from a warranty claim.
  •  Fontenille Pataud folding knives are made of stainless steel, this type of metal does not require any maintenance. Please do not immerse your knife in water or place it in the dishwasher, doing so will be detrimental to the handle material. Periodically place a couple of drops of lubricant on the axle of all moving parts. We recommend the use of oil-free Sentry-Solutions-Tuf-Glide 1/4 oz Pen Applicator here.

    • Most personalised orders leave same or next day depending on order time. However, please allow up to 2 business days during a couple of weeks preceding Christmas and Father's day. If you need reassurance, please call us at 860-245-2211 between 9 am & 5 pm EST Monday through Friday and we will be able to provide you with a more accurate turnaround based on your particular needs. Please keep in mind that our engravers do not work Saturdays and Sundays EXCEPT during the two weeks preceding Christmas and Father's Day. Please visit our "Shipping Schedule" page if you are planning on using one of our EXPRESS shipping options.

    • Engraved items cannot be returned unless we made an obvious mistake such as location, font or spelling. Location areas are "approximate." Our engravers will place engravings in the most "tasteful & appropriate" way. Please let us know if you have special requests regarding the order of words, size, etc. by calling us at 1-860-245-2211. We cannot accept returns on items that were not engraved the way you "assumed" they would be unless you provided us with accurate & comprehensive instructions that we did not follow.
