Table Specialties
WE ARE TRUSTED BY SOME OF THE WORLD'S BEST CORPORATIONS Offer your employees, customers or business partners a memorable and useful gift.
Before the development of the Laguiole in the 19th century, French shepherds carried a knife called the "Capuchadou" (or "capujadou"). This knife was used for all daily tasks, from preparing lunch to caring for their flocks of sheep. The four-leaf clover was added to provide good luck.
Guilloche: The Guilloché series features additional chiseling of the spring and liners (top & bottom. The "bee" and the spring (4 leaf clover) of this knife are forged from one piece of stainless steel. The shamrock also features a genuine gemstone in its center.
Consider this: This knife was handmade in Europe's capital of cutlery, "Thiers." The Gilles® Fontenille Pataud collections of knives are considered by many to be some of the best pocket knives money can buy. All Knives offered by Gilles are entirely made by a single craftsman from start to finish ensuring pride of ownership of the final piece. 100% Made in France
Technical aspects: The spring is made from 3 mm thick stainless steel Z20c13 and features a blade-stop that helps maintain the blade's edge. The "Shamrock," as well as the handle's top, are hand-chased with a file: This denotes artisan quality, unlike mass-market knives that have welded springs and are machine decorated. The file work details create a unique knife, making each knife one of a kind.
Shopping for a unique pocket knife not only holds the promise of ownership but the excitement of finally beholding an item admired through a screen. However, all too often, what was envisioned and what is unboxed bear a startling, sometimes painful discrepancy.
You will receive the actual folding knife shown in the photos.
No one wants to view photos of a beautiful and unique knife and receive something not even close to the representative image; this is why we take pictures of each piece. Select your One-Of-A-Kind knife!
Things to Look For
The file work on the springs (top of handle) are individually hand filled by a French artisan, therefore all are different. Additionally, two handles made from the same material can have very different patterns.
You need to know
Desert Ironwood (Olneya tesota) - World hardest wood and one of the most difficult to work with due to its density. Color ranges from an orangish-yellow to a darker red or brown, with darker violet to black streaks. Some pieces may be almost entirely black. Harvested in Central America.
Studded Work: Stainless Steel needles/studs inlay are each inserted and cut by hand. This stunning diamond-shaped artwork is exceptionally time-consuming and can only be carried out by Fontenille Pataud's most skilled artisans.
Pocket knives are shipped same business day from Florida when ordered by 4 PM Eastern time. UPS delivery can be expected in 1 to 3 business days depending on destination. International shipping options are available at checkout.
