Named after the Great St Bernard Hospice, a traveler’s hospice on the often treacherous St. Bernard Pass in the Alps located between Switzerland and Italy. The pass, the lodge, and the dogs are named for Bernard of Menthon, the monk who established the station a 1000 years ago. The “Gilles®” Fontenille Pataud collection of knives are considered by many to be some of the best French pocket knives money can buy. 100% Made in France.

1. The file work on the springs' top are individually hand-filled. As a result, each top is unique.
2. Two handles made from the same type of material can have very different patterns.
